What is a naturopath?
A naturopath is a holistic health practitioner who’s aim is to encourage support and guide you in all areas of your health and wellness. A naturopath uses a wide range of different therapies tailored to suit the individual which can include diet, lifestyle, herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, homoeopathic medicine, Bach flowers & Australian bush essences. The focus of treatment is based on finding the cause of your health problems rather than only using symptomatic treatments. This approach often takes longer but the improvements are often more permanent. At holistic health and wellness the aim is to improve your over all health and creating your optimal wellness.

What is a herbalist?
A herbalist has been trained in the use of herbal medicines. Naturopaths are usually herbalists but also uses other forms of therapies. The two main systems of herbal medicine in Australia are western herbal medicine and Traditional Chinese herbal medicine. Tracey Lee Morley is trained in western herbal medicine.

What is a homeopath?
Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine based on the principle ‘like cures like, it is a subtle but powerful form of medicine and easy to take. A classical homeopath needs to have at least 3-4 year of study. Many naturopaths today have had one year of training in the basics of homeopathy but to see a well trained homeopathy ask the practitioner how many years did they train in homeopathy?
How homeopathic medicines work is still to be scientifically understood, and is often criticised because the scientific understanding is lacking. But there are many scientific studies showing the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine for certain conditions, even if the mechanism of action isn’t understood. Tracey Lee Morley had 3 years studying homeopathy in Australia, plus practical training in India with homeopath doctors, has taught the first year homoeopathic diploma at Naturecare and in Port Macquarie.

What is iridology?
Iridology is a diagnostic tool many naturopaths are trained to use as part of their health assessments. Iridology uses the markings and signs in the iris (coloured part) of the eye as an indicator of hereditary tendencies to particular health problems. It is not a replacement for medical testing but can be used as an extra tool in accessing underlying causes for your particular health issues.
